Same driver, yet I'm connected at gig-e speeds on cisco switches here at work as well as on cisco hardware at home. Windows 7 has built in support for fingerprint readers and thats what I was hoping to use not the ControlPoint software. Windows Vista didn't have any build in support for Biometrics as Windows 7 does. If this would be connected directly to the USB to bypass the Broadcom controller then the fingerprint reader will be normally enumerated by the operating system and it may work correctly. Maybe I need to get some other driver?

This can fingerprijt beneficial to other community members reading the thread. You can try uninstalling the drivers in Device Manager and then reinstall them using the Windows 7 Compatibility Mode options.

This is disappointing since MS' product is way better than ControlPoint security software it constantly fails to authenticate and does not present a message about nroadcom failure - you just keep swiping the sensor until you succeed. Now I can still fngerprint to the "Enable Secure Windows Login and enroll fingerprints" wizard, but this time even if I swipe a finger, there is no reaction at all as if I didn't swipe any finger and the sensor didn't scan anything the 5 registration numbered swipe boxes stay grey and often the security manager just hangs and Usu have to kill it.

Anyway, normally you solve the problem by installing Dell ControlVault, that installs the fingerprint driver.

I can also go on with the installer as I have the 'ignore' option, but that doesn't solve too much.
